Divine order is a principle that allows us to see life from an expanded viewpoint. You can tell a lot about a person by learning to what degree he or she perceives the divine order that underlies all things. People who think that the Universe is chaotic and that things happen at random rarely feel peaceful and at harmony with themselves and others. However, those who know that there is perfect order in the Universe have a firmer internal anchor to stabilize their mental activity.

The more we are able to perceive the divine order that is at work at all times and in all places, the more peaceful and stable we feel. This stability is essential for a balanced life.

Everything in nature reflects the truth that there is a grand, sublime and orderly system underlying our world. We who create art, music, literature, and all the useful things produced by humanity know that our work is only possible and meaningful because there is a sense of structure upon which we can build. Music, for example, relies on the orderly systems of harmony, rhythm, acoustics, etc., in order to have form. Life itself is an out-picturing of divine order, so marvelously immense and multi-faceted that we often lack the vantage point required to perceive its perfection.

A narrow viewpoint, whether constricted by time, prejudice, reliance on sensory input, or other limitations, diminishes our ability to comprehend the larger patterns of existence. This is why life can appear random, and people feel helpless. Our physicality restricts our access to divine vision, which sees all things. The only way to regain our true and original perception of the divine order is through faith.

Faith is a unique substance in that it operates outside the confines of time and space. Faith actually reverses the flow of linear time. We operate faith in advance of physical evidence, and then physical evidence appears. The same is true for awareness of the divine order. The person who trusts wholeheartedly that there is a sublime and magnificent order in the Universe (even if all current appearances are to the contrary) will begin to see the patterns of perfection.

Our awareness of Universal order has the potential for infinite expansion. Once we consciously gain even a small glimpse of this magnificent system, our desire to experience more and more of it compels the Universe to unfold its sacred patterns to us. A dance of love begins between the awakening mind and the great all-encompassing source. Life begins to reorder itself in greater patterns of beauty and harmony. And we feel increasing inner peace, knowing that we can fully trust the divine order.
