Building Your Camelot

In the legends of King Arthur, Camelot was the mythical realm in which a strong and wise king championed the ideals of equality, sovereignty, courage, and kindness to create a golden age for his people. The Arthurian heritage is vast and rich, and remains as compelling today as in ages past because it illustrates principles and states of human consciousness that are universal.
The symbolism found in these myths is derived largely from early Celtic folklore, but as with all mythology, the stories contain archetypes that can apply to any person at any time and in any place. For example, the kingdom of Camelot can be seen as the orderly, well-governed mind of a person who embodies wisdom, self-discipline, and magnanimity. Although Camelot was often the target of attacks from neighboring warlike states, it was always well defended by its king, a master of strategy. Likewise, the person who sees his or her mind as a precious territory to be developed and protected from all disagreeable and destructive tendencies will have rulership over an inner kingdom more prosperous and flourishing than any found in the ancient legends.

My beautiful mind creates my beautiful world, and I do whatever is necessary to guard the borders of my mental kingdom from anything that does not belong in my inner realm. I know that I am sovereign over my life.
