If you've heard of the Law of Attraction, chances are you have benefited either directly or indirectly from the massive body of work of Esther and Jerry Hicks, often referred to as the teachings of Abraham.

Esther Hicks and her late husband Jerry have been writing books, holding workshops, and offering recordings of their explorations into the Law of Attraction for more than 25 years. Esther accesses a level of higher consciousness that she calls Abraham and describes as a grouping of non-physical beings that communicate blocks of pure positive thought to her. Nearly all of today's thought leaders in the human potential movement, new thought, and spiritual development have been profoundly influenced by these teachings.
No discussion of the current Western cultural/group understanding of the Law of Attraction would be complete without including this very robust and far-reaching body of work. Much of the common dialog on manifesting desires and spiritual creation is heavily flavored with Hicks-ian thought. For example, the idea of allowing the desired good to manifest without applying effort, to gauge one's proximity to a desired state through emotions, and that caring about how we feel is key to the unfolding of our greatest dreams are all central concepts of the Abraham teachings that have now made their way into the public body of thought on these topics.
Anyone who wants to study the teachings of Abraham can do so, as the works are easily accessible and presented in simple, straightforward language. Esther Hicks has a very generous policy of allowing YouTube users to upload short segments of her workshops to their channels, and this unusually benevolent stance has also proved to be marketing gold. Who can say how many tens of thousands of people have discovered Esther's work through these freely available recordings? Those who wish to go further can then visit the Abraham-Hicks website where there is a plethora of books, recordings, and options to attend live workshops and cruises.
As we delve deeper in coming posts into these magnificent teachings, we'd love to have you share your thoughts and experiences regarding the teachings of Abraham. Please leave your comments below.
